me·di·ta·tiv Light and Audio Installation Beta

me·di·ta·tiv is an interactive light and sound installation that transforms human movement into an evolving landscape of color and tone. Visitors become part of the work itself, shaping an environment of shifting additive light while a generative soundscape unfolds in response.

The project was conceived during a winter residency in Iceland—a season where daylight barely rises above the horizon. Surrounded by long periods of darkness, the installation became an exploration of light as a physical and emotional material rather than a source of illumination.

The installation was left completely unexplained, with no instructions or prescribed way of experiencing it, and it was deeply moving for the artist to see visitors instinctively slow down, settle where the drifting light touched their faces, and remain there in quiet stillness, bringing the work to life through their presence.
